I went on a local hike in San Mateo with my buddies Jasyn and Laura. We wandered through the Sugarloaf open space and some trails in Belmont. On our way down from the top of Sugarloaf, a great little hill with an overlook of the entire bay, we saw a small animal moving in the grass. I've seen bob cats in Santa Cruz, this guy had a long tail that curved near the ground. The whole animal was about the size of a dog though and in broad daylight. I think it was a young mountain lion. I'm so proud of my local open space. The ability to walk out your door to an area with trails and wildlife is invaluable.

It is finally raining in California!

I'm learning how this all works and how I want to organize the page so bare with me a while as I set it up. In the meantime I will try to put up pretty pictures from the past, some of which are near or around the PCT.
